Orthodontics Redlands Braces aren't just for kids anymore. From 7 – 70, your smile can be enhanced at any age. Although there is an ideal time to get the maximum benefit of growth, your treatment plan is customized to your individual needs based on your bite, health of teeth, bone and tissue, your growth potential and age. We offer a variety of treatments that are designed for different age groups, including adults. Traditional silver braces, clear braces or Invisalign can be used to correct your bite. A beautiful smile can be yours today!

Early Treatment

Early treatment can begin as early as 7 years old. Once the first permanent molars erupts, we can determine growth patterns, bite relationship, and spacing of teeth. Although treatment at this age may not be for you, it is important to have an evaluation by age 7, so that we may detect any potential problems and optimize your treatment. Problems to look for and may need treatment early on are growth related:

  • Cross bite – when the upper teeth are positioned to the inside of the lower teeth
  • Under bite – lower front teeth protrude more than upper teeth
  • Severe over bite – upper teeth protrude significantly making it hard to eat, close your lips or risk trauma.
  • Impacted or missing teeth

We recommend that patients follow the American Association of Orthodontics guidelines by having an orthodontic exam by age 7 to evaluate potential problems.

Comprehensive Treatment

Orthodontic treatment may be accomplished at any age, but we believe the most ideal time to treat patients is in their early teens. Starting comprehensive orthodontics (one phase) as early as 10 years old allows for the most dramatic results in respect to tooth alignment and growth. Studies show that during this accelerated growth period we have the greatest opportunity to align teeth as well as manipulate growth to achieve an ideal smile.

Adult Treatment

Our largest area of growth in our practice over the past few years is in adult treatment. Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically improve your personal appearance and self-esteem. Although it is not just a matter of a beautiful smile, the health of your mouth can be dramatically affected by the alignment of your teeth. Improving the health of your teeth and gums is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute to cavities, gum disease and bone loss, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel, headaches and Temporomandibular joint (TMJ/TMD) pain. For adults we have several treatment options, including clear braces and Invisalign.

During the initial examination, we will be able to determine the best possible treatment for your individual needs. During this initial examination, we can outline the treatment plan, time of treatment expected and the approximate cost.

Invisalign and Invisalign Teen

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth. Like braces, Invisalign slowly moves your teeth using a sequence of clear trays (Aligners) instead of wires. Each Aligner is worn for approximately 2 weeks before moving on the next Aligner. Thanks to the improved technology, we are able to treat more diverse orthodontic problems with Invisalign than ever before, including teens using the new Invisalign Teen product. At your consultation, we can tell you if you are candidate for Invisalign.

Call us and make an appointment today to see if you are a candidate for Orthodontic treatment.
